Winter isn't coming — it's here!

Winter is finally here in Atlanta. How do I know? Because I was freezing my butt off the other day while my boyfriend and I were strolling through Piedmont Park. Temperatures in the low 30s in the evening and high 50s during the day. It’s the perfect weather to whip out your favorite trench coat, puffer, or parka. I had recently purchased a super warm Nicce khaki parka. It’s honestly, the best jacket for winter — padded lining for extra warmth, borg-lined hood, and faux-fur trim. The bright orange beanie that’s keeping my head warm is from a brand I recently discovered called, Carhartt which makes clothing for manual laborers which means that their products are super sturdy (fire resistant and tear proof). I don’t expect my beanie to catch on fire but it’s good to know that in case Trump literally set America on fire then at least I’d know my head would be protected. Speaking of fires, I love the autumnal colors of changing leaves — red, orange, yellow, and even brown. I think wearing neutral colors and adding a pop of neon accessory is super cute. My color story for this winter season is neon and neutrals.

I don’t know… I just think the contradiction somehow makes the color combination work really well together. I will post more about this later in the season. I have many more looks to share. I can’t believe I honestly thought these were enough layers to keep me warm from the winter’s icy grip. A beanie, a crew neck sweater, black jeans, parka, and Doc Marten boots were simply not enough to combat the bitter cold. I learned that I needed much more armor if I was going to survive the winter. Especially if I am going to visit Europe in a couple of weeks. I will need to layer up. Stock up on thermals and gloves. “It’s all about layers” as my French and Canadian boyfriend would say.
